Planning Collective is searching for motivated individuals for a summer internship program with the company. This position will include a mix of traditional business activities as well event execution work. Availability on specific weekends will be a must. The time commitment will be 4-8 hours a week for non-event weeks, and 8-12 on event weeks and will run from May to September. Specific dates will be discussed in the interview process.
The ideal applicant would be motivated to learn about all aspects of business in the event industry, in addition to the actual wedding/event day. Basic computer skills and access to a laptop are a must. Knowledge of social media for business use would be a plus. Reliable transportation is also a requirement for the position.
In addition to the technical/office support skills, applicants should be professional and personable, and able to take charge when needed. Strong communication skills and the ability to follow instructions will be very important. Applicants should also be flexible in nature, and have the ability to troubleshoot in a calm manner when needed.
This is an unpaid internship, however successful internships may result in part-time paid work in the future. We are happy to work with college students in need of credit or work experience for their program. Planning Collective is based out of Royal Oak, however travel around all areas of metro-Detroit will be necessary.
