In 2004, I started Purple Clover Events as a very part-time hobby while working in healthcare marketing. After each wedding, I became more and more obsessed with learning everything I could about weddings and the business of helping couples make their way down the aisle. As time passed, the hobby because a full-time business, and I’ve had the pleasure of helping hundreds of couples down the aisle.
Over the years, our events have been featured in publications such as The Knot, MetroDetroit Bride, Style Me Pretty, and WeddingWire. In 2017, I was honored to be inducted into the Michigan Meetings & Events Hall of Fame as the Special Events Planner of the year. We’ve won numerous awards for our events, but more importantly, regularly receive the sweetest compliments and reviews from our couples after their weddings.
About Planning Collective
I decided to start Planning Collective after growing frustrated with the overwhelming flood of wedding websites and blogs that appear to be there to help couples plan their weddings, but are really just going after the vendors pocketbooks. Those “best of” lists only include those that pay to be on their lists, and so much on these sites are sponsored content.
We’re flipping the script, and clearing out all that marketing and advertising clutter. Planning Collective is all about the logistics of planning the wedding. While we’ll talk about design and all the fun pretty stuff too, you can be confident that all the information provided is based on our 14 years of experience planning weddings, not based on who was the highest bidder!
This was probably you not all that long ago! Maybe you weren’t surrounded by candles and flowers, but chances are someone was down on one knee, and there were probably some happy tears involved!
There’s so much excitement around getting engaged, and there really should be! After the initial buzz quiets down though, the fact that you have to plan a wedding starts to set in. Most couples that we’ve met with over the past 14 years have told us that’s where it starts to feel overwhelming. Thoughts of “What am I missing?” and “Are we doing this right?” can often be overwhelming.
Don’t worry, you’re definitely not alone. After hearing this for many years, we’ve put this site together to help ease those feelings! You’ll get to “meet” lots of other couples that are feeling the same way, and with our support, we’ll make sure you’re not missing a thing on your way to the aisle!
